Flying to Adelaide

Adelaide Airport is an approximate 15-minute drive from the Adelaide CBD. Direct flights are offered to and from all Australian capital cities, plus Alice Springs, Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Albury and Launceston. Major international carriers flying directly into Adelaide include Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airlines and Air New Zealand.

Airport Transfers

The taxi drop-off for Adelaide Airport is located on Atura Circuit, between the terminal and the Atura Hotel. When departing from the airport, there is a designated taxi rank located to the left (western side) of the pedestrian plaza as you walk out of the terminal.

In addition, Suburban Access Taxis cater for passengers with a disability. Their vehicles are fitted with hydraulic lifts, allowing those in wheelchairs and scooters to be transported securely and respectfully.

Ridesharing services such as Uber, Ola, Didi and Shebah (operated for women, by women) have designated pick-up facilities at Adelaide Airport. The pick-up area is just to the left of the Terminal Car Park as you leave the terminal. Follow the signs and walk across the plaza and then cross at the pedestrian lights to the car park. The rideshare pick up area will be on your left.

Adelaide Metro offers a convenient, affordable airport bus service to Adelaide city centre. Catch the bus from Stop 10 Adelaide Airport, located on Sir Richard Williams Avenue, to the left (west) of the passenger pick-up/drop-off area as you exit the terminal on the ground floor.

A regular Adelaide Metro bus fare costs $4.55 during peak travel time or $2.60 during off peak travel time. Adelaide Metro offers Tap and Pay which is an easy way to pay with your Visa or Mastercard using smart validators, available on all buses.

Getting Around Adelaide

Adelaide’s public transport system is run by Adelaide Metro, providing travel options throughout the city and the greater metropolitan area. Adelaide Metro offers free public transport options in the city and North Adelaide.

Trams are the most popular way to get around Adelaide. Tram routes around the CBD are free. The free zone is the area between the South Terrace stop, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Festival Plaza and the Botanic Gardens. 

Free city connector buses link popular city attractions, shopping, dining, education and services. The buses start just before 7:00 am and finish at 7:15 pm.
